Jorge Mario Bergoglio,76, of Argentina is now the new pope to lead 1.2 billion Roman Catholics around the world after being elected by 115 cardinals in The Vatican on Wednesday, March 13.
Pope Francis I, as he is now named, is the first non- European pope in more than 1,200 years and becomes the 266th pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.
