The Marian apparition, the 1948 shower of petals, other miraculous events associated with this church, and the over-all feeling of serenity make anyone seeking spiritual refuge visit Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in this part of Batangas. The home of Carmelite sisters, Carmel as locals call this church, is a sanctuary for prayers not only to many Lipenos and Batanguenos but also to many devotees from various parts of the Philippines and abroad.
According to accounts of the apparition, Mama Mary showed herself to Teresita Castillo, a nun, telling that she is the "Mediatrix of All Grace". Hence, this church is also known as Our Lady of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Church.
